The principal activities of an independent record company are the acquisition, production, marketing, manufacture and distribution of recorded popular music and the acquisition, exploitation and administration of publishing rights.
Because it is the most easily "personalized" and accessible form of entertainment, recorded music readily pervades virtually every culture and every level of society. As such, recorded music may be considered as the most fundamental of the entertainment businesses.
The Mission
Halfmoon Records & Publishing wishes to provide discriminating recorded-music consumers of all ages with compact discs and CD ROMs of contemporary artists from New York City. The selected products will satisfy the needs consumers have expressed for new music that is accessible and affordable, provides immediate, simultaneous and psychological gratification, and is easily customized and personalized. The company focuses on the newly developed technologies to distribute its products in fun and entertaining ways. We seek to make available to music lovers new, out of the main stream artists who have the potential to break the middle of the road pop music mold and become the superstars of tomorrow.
